DIM SUM LUNCHEON

New Chinese seafood
eatery looks promising

FEELING bloated with information? Well, for a lighter meal
of restaurant news this week’s Table Hopping will focus on
shorter, less filling fare. The regular restaurant review will
appear in next week’s column.

THE MING COURT, 83 CHES-

A new restaurant in the building
that most recently housed the
disappointing Marco Polo Chinese
food restaurant, the Ming Court is
billing itself as a Chinese Seafood
Restaurant, which could be ex-
tremely interesting.

Try this for starters: Shredded
Jelly Fish and Pork Slices ($6.50) or

table hopping

Fish Maw with Shredded Duck
Soup ($5.50); or over in the entree
department: Satay Prawns ($8.50)
or Squid with Chinese Broccoli
($7.50).

Definitely a seafood ring,
methinks. But there are aiso tradi-
tional chop sueys, chow meins,
wor-meins and fu-yongs for those

Also featured is a Chinese Dim
Sum Luncheon: Fresh Har Gar, Siu
Mai, Beef Balls and all your

favorites.

Insalate interessant: Peperoni
Arrostiti (grilled peppers with
virgin olive vil, garlic and an-
chovies ($4.50); Carciofi alla
Calabrese (artichoke hearts with
shrimp and sundried tomatoes,
$5.95).

Entree ana pasta aplenty: Fet-
tuccine ai Carciofi (Artichokes,
black ojives and tomato, $9.75);
Saltimbocca alla Romana (veal
with prescuitto and sage in a white
wine sauce, $15.25); Gamberi
Rossc con Capperi {prawns with
tomato and caper sauce, $15.25).

While | personally tend to
distrust any company with the ad-
jective great included in its name,
the Great Canadian Cheesesteak
Co. promises some interesting
grub into which most of us.
Cheeseheads would like to sink
our Great White North choppers:
Canadian Cheesesteak ($3.25),
grilled roast beef with Monterey
Jack and cheddar cheeses, green
pepper, onions and mayonnaise
on a sesame hoagie bun; or pour
les Eastern guy: French Dip
($3.25), move roast beef on a but-
tered, toasted hoagie with special
sauce,

There is also a six-ounce New
York strip steak sandwich for
$5.95, a price that is difficult to

at.

The meat used is commercially
roasted sirloin tip, which is very
moist and full-flavored. Combined
with the aforementioned ingre-
dients, it makes for an instant lun-
cheon classic that is both good
and fast (Cheesesteaks take about
90 seconds to produce because
