Federation of Labour has launched a Task Force on the 7 Economy, which will tour the pro- , vince until the end of June, holding a series of town hail meetings and receiving the opi- nions of British Columbians on the economic future of the province. _Federation president Ken Georgetti described the program as “a new and important initiative from organized labor in this pro- vince.” “Many of our communities are faced with high unemployment, environmental degradation and uncertain futures for our children,” said Georgetti. “The labor movement,”’ he said, *‘has developed many policies and programs over the years addressing these problems. We want to talk to people in their communities about the problems and the solutions.
