The rezoning would see the property owned by Mr. and Mrs. Harold Stringer, on the west side of Prospect Road and north of Rockland Road, rezoned from Single Family Residential one acre zone (RSI) to Single Family Residential 7200 zone (RS3). As a result, two standard 60 foot lots would be created on Starlight Way with a larger lot being retained on Pro- spect Road. Several owners on Pro- spect Road attempted to rezone their lots from RS] to RS3 as early as 1978, but, op- position from three out of the seven owners blocked that effort. Earlier last year, Roberto Rodrigues of 4235 Prospect Road applied for a rezoning from RSI to RS3 but Council rejected that application in March on the grounds it was an ‘‘undesirable mid-block spot rezoning.’’ Council did By JOANNE MacDONALD state it was willing to recon- sider the application. if a group consisting of all of the land owners on the west side of Prospect Road requested the change from RSI to RS3. This application, however, was not delivered to the District’s offices until Monday. Gundhart Fleischer, a neighbor of the Stringers who is currently servicing lots on Montroyal Boulevard, said the major cost factor involv- ed in the rezoning would be the entrance to Starlight Parking RESIDENTS OF Horseshoe Bay properties can now park their cars overnight seven days a week on the roadway bordering their land without fear of being ticketed. At its regular Monday meeting, West Vancouver Council, by deleting a section of the previous by-law, decided the }-a.m. to 6 a.m. restriction on parking in the area would not apply to owners and occupiers as of January 16. Prior to the deletion, there have been a number of com- Neighbors join rezoning push for smaller lots Way, which currently only occupies half of a road allowance. Fleischer said any development costs for the en- trance would be shared by himself and the Stringers. Speaking against the ap- plication were Desouki Biali, Roberto Rodrigues and Charles Warner. Biali also carried a petition with the names of six property owners in the area opposing the rezoning. As a result of the group submission delivered Mon- day, Council decided to delay consideration of both rezon- ing applications until the January 23 Council meeting. break plaints received from Horseshoe Bay residents that they were ticketed for park- ing their own cars in front of their own homes. The by-law deletion also means one other change. Though enforcement is still carried out on a complaint- basis, police will deal with a complaint lodged by an owner or occupier for his or her property only. In the past, police have had pro- blems when one person on a block decides to complain about cars all along the street. INTEREST FREE MORTGAGE!
