Girls soccer
leagues unite

REGISTRATION for the 11-
division North Shore Girls’ Soccer
Club (NSGSC) will be held Satur-
day at the North Vancouver Rec-
reation Centre between 9 a.m. and
3 p.m.

The registration represents the
first time in North Shore girls’
soccer history that all teams will be
united under a single umbrella
organization.

Club chairman Norm Brown
said’. Monday the move will
strengthen local girls’ soccer both

in organization and quality by
realigning soccer talent and divi-
sional rivalries.

The NSGSC will also be in-
itiating new soccer programs for
ail levels of playing skill, including
a program for the more com-
petitive players. .

“It's a unification that will
ultimately strengthen and revitalize
girls’ soccer on the North Shore,”
Brown said.

DUDLEY BOWLS
ON TO VICTORY

NORTH VANCOUVER’S Susan
Dudley rolled over the opposition
recently in a pair of. bowling
championships.

Dudley, a former North Shore
News carrier, won the 16-year-old
division of the Coca-Cola B.C.
10-pin championship on April 26.

The following night, bowling
with partner Tiffany Gilmore, she

turned around and won the the
Youth Bowling League Association
with. scores of 221, 214, and 197
for a 632 series total.

Dudley, 16, will now go on to
represent B.C. in a 10-pin tour-
namment being held July 17 to 20
in Seattle.

She bowls out of North Van-
couver’s Thunderbird Lanes. .
