(UPC) - What's good for the
public is not necessarily
good for the armed forces -
which could be one con-
clusion drawn from tests
with civilians done at a
federal agriculture research

station in this Okanagan
Valley community.
The research station

developed nutritious 50-
gram bars of meat, fruit and

cheese for the army, which
had requested a survival
ration that could be used on
hikes, a microbiologist who
helped to develop the bars
said recently. &
