The technological
Western world . knows the
reality and uses of hypnotism‘
while the’ spiritual Eastern
World has known and
believed in* the reality of

reincarnation for thousands

For many skeptical
.vesterners therefore,
hypnotism could very well:
be the key to the hidden
dour behind which lies the
answer to the mystery of
reincarnation, the continual
cycle of soul-rebirth.

Not everyone requires
proof, of course; many
famous ‘western’ minds and
personalities have, in their
time, accepted the concept
of metempsychosis (the
transmigration of souls) —
from Socrates and Plato to
such men as Leibniz and
Einsiein, Thoreau,- Whit-
man, Sir Arthur Conan
Doyle, Frederick the Great,
Immanuel Kant, Goethe and
Napoleon.

And -some people are
given proof whether they
want it or not so before we
look at the hypnosis-
reincarmmation cases, let me
first tell you William
Martin's story.

In 1911, then a youth of 16
and living about 12 miles
away from his parents’ home
in Liverpoql, England,
young Mr. Martin was
seriously injured when a
high wall was blown down. A

huge coping stone hit him on ~

the head, knocking him out
and severely crushing his
skull,

He reported later that he
was able to look down on the
scene seeing people rushing
around while othe stone
rested on his head. He could
hear what they were sayjng
and watched as some men
litted his body to carry it out
to the house where he had
his lodgings.

“As they started to carry
ine, it was remarked by
sumeone that this would
come as ao blow to my
parents — I was immediately
conscious of a desire to be
with my mother. Instantly 1
was at home where my
father and mother were just
sitting down to their midday
meal,

recognized was in bed. Two

“The doctor said ‘It looks
as though we have lost them
both’ and again I felt the
urge to take
place, to show him he was

thoughts in her direction,
when straight-away J was in
a railway carriage. with her
and my father.”

William travelled with his
parents, staying with them
even as they entered his
lodging house,
distraught mother sat at his
bedside, William longed to
confort her,.

“The realization came that
I ought to do the same thing
I had felt impelled to do in
case of the baby and climb.

The boy then astounded

his parents by repeating
word tor word some of the
conversations they had had
both at hume and on the
train. He told them too
about poor Mrs, Wilson and

same day al 2:05 p.m. after

picture of a soul released
from the near-to-death body
of William Martin seeking
out a new-born body to
inhabit.
