The 1988 Plymouth Reliant Canada-K model lineup offers three practical body styles — Plymouth Reliant Canada-K two- door sedan, a roomy Reliant Canada-K four-door sedan and the versatile Plymouth Reliant Canada-K four-door station wagon. All three 1988 Plymouth Reliant Canada-K’s are built on a 2,548 mm (100.3-inch) wheelbase. Overall length is 4,536 mm (178.6 inches) for Reliant Canada-K two- and four-door sedans, and 4,547 mm (179.0 inches) for the Reliant Canada-K wagon. Plymouth Reliant Canada-K’s pleasing ‘‘aero’’ appearance features a softly-textured grille design with a bright Pentastar emblem at its centre, softly round- ed front and rear fenders and a broad hood and decklid. Standard engine in the 1988 Plymouth Reliant Canada-K is Chrysier’s proven 2.2-litre, elec- tronically fuel-injected four- cylinder engine. A close-ratio, five-speed manual overdrive transaxle is standard. A 2.5-litre four-cylinder EFI engine with three-speed automatic tran- saxle is optionally available. An electronic lockup torque converter is standard on Canada- K’s 2.2L and 2.5L engines, when equipped with automatic transaxle. Three of Reliant Canada-K’s ex- terier color choices for 1988 are new: dark cordovan pearl coat, light rosewood mist pearl coat and bright white clear coat. Reliant Canada-K’s premium radio option has been redesigned. The AM stereo/FM stereo radio with cassette tape player now comes with a joystick balance/ fader speaker control. Plymouth Reliant Canada-K’s list of standard equipment includes power steering, 14-inch deluxe wheel covers, lower body urethane protective coating, map/reading light with swivel feature mounted in right sun visor with visor mir- ror, mini-console on manual tran- saxle-equipped models, and low- back bucket seats with passenger and driver reclining seat backs and adjustable head restraints. A rear window defroster is also standard. An optional Canada-K Easy Order Package includes automatic transaxle, electronically-tuned AM/FM stereo radio, dual remote control rear view mirrors, tinted glass, front and rear floor mats, bodyside tape applique and trunk dressup, console and special sound insulation. A Premium Equipment Package option includes electronic speed control, tilt steering column, lux- ury-type steering wheel and power door locks.
