Van connects with Evergro Michael Becker News Editor mbecker@usnews.com A NORTH Vancouver company specializing in organic fertilizer prod- ucts has sprouted new business with profes- sional growers. International Bio- Recovery (IBR) Corp. recent- ly reached a distribution and product development agree- ment with Evergro Canada Inc. Evergro markets fertilizer products throughout North America, It will represent IBR’s organic products — made from processed organic waste — to growers of green- house vegetables and flowers, ornamental and forestry nurs- eries, fruit farms, mushroom operations and turf grass cus- tomers. Larry Les, IBR’s director of marketing, fertilizer and feed products, said the deal with Evergro “vaults IBR’s entry into the fertilizer indus- try in a significant and mean- 1 way.” IBR converts biodegrad- able waste into new products. The North Vancouver plant can daily turn 100 tonnes of wet organic wastes gathered from hotels, restaurants, and food stores into organic fertil- izer products in 72 hours or less. The average person gener- ates about two pounds of biodegradable waste daily. This waste accounts for 25% to 30% of landfill waste.
