Valentine gifts

Valentine gifts will be exchanged today.

Roses continue to top the list,
with North Shore florists predic-
ting a brisk business Feb. 14.

Other local businesses agree
chocolates are a natural second
choice in the romance market,
followed by a dinner out-on-the-
town.

If these favorites, although tried
and true, seem ho-hum, lovers can
attract attention with edible
underwear, long-stemmed cookies,
heart-shaped balloon bouquets or
rent a Porsche or Ferrari for that
special occasion, ~

One airline company is even of-
fering a Luv-a-Fare package, to
bring long-distance lovers together.

CP Air travellers can arrange to
take their spouses along on a free
one-way trip this Friday.

CLASSIC SALE
The classic dozen red roses is the

standard sale for most Morists, and
in preparation, 200 orders have

been made by West Vancouver
Florist Limited.

Pasko said the demand is always
greatest for the flower at this time
of year. And it’s usually men who
make the order.

“Et doesn't occur to them to
send anything else.” said Pasko.
“We sometimes suggest they try
something different.”

roses rather than the usual dozen.

the flower’s connotation of love,
but she added the Valentine flower
is really a carnation.

Sul, roses are in demand,
costing anywhere from $20 to $60
a dozen, depending on size.

And for lovers in general, North
Vancouver’s Love Nest has a wide
selection of ladies’ lingerie as well
as novelty gifts, such as massage
oif or bubble bath. — Business has
been so good that the lingerie and
notions shop has stayed open fate
in the evening these past few nights
before Valentine’s.
