AS brides arrived at Yvonne Saunders’
home to drop off their wedding bou-
quets for preservation, they’d often
comment on their surroundings.

weddings here,’ ” s Saunders, who has saved
wedding-day memories in the form of” pressed-
flower pictures trans bridal bouquets for the past 30
years.

Her son, who works with her in her business
Petals & Lace, helped her design the Tusean villa
just off West Van's Marine Drive.

She's spent the last few years filling in the
antique doors, wrought iron gates and bal-
painted walls and ceilings, a huge log fire-

place, scores of wall lights — even fountains, statues
and draping. There are opulent touches everywhere
— even the bathrooms are loaded with luxury.

She named it Villa Felicita.

dings,

to make it so. In the spring and summer, weddings
can be planned for Gis garden, and in inclement
weather or for fall and winter weddings, the cere-
mony and reception can be held in the upstairs li
ing taom. Saunders can recommend a marriage
commissioner, she will serve hors d’ocuvres and
complimentary champagne for toasting with.
