AN ARTICULATE attendant is wanted to receive visitors, operate a small book and card sales counter and provide basic security at a local museum. Training will be provided. A PATIENT, kind person is wanted to be on call for various jobs in a seniors’ lodge and hospi- tal. The hours are flexible. A HAPPY, confident person is wanted to socialize with elderly residents of a lodge and to escort them to meals and recreational ac- tivities. Training will be provided and the hours are flexible. A GGOD public speaker is’ wanted to speak to various groups about the Caregivers’ Support Society. Organization will be pro- vided and the hours are flexible. AIDS Vancouver needs people to assist with filing, assembling information packages and stock- ing pamphlets. ALSO needed at AIDS Van- couver is a library assistant with good clerical skills. The volunteer will file articles and letters, pro- cess news materials and index newspaper clippings four hours per week. Training will be provid- ed PEOPLE interested in recycling are invited to volunteer at AIDS Vancouver. Volunteers will collect various boxes of materials within the office and take them to a recyling depot. The hours are flex- ible. A CREATIVE, patient teaching assistant is wanted to work one- on-one with 10 mentally handi- capped adults in a creative drama class. Volunteers will have fun playing theatre games and creating characters. Orientation will be provided and the hours are from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursdays. Public speaking courses offered NORTH SHORE Continuing Education is offering a one- day course designed to help people overcome their fear of public speaking and making business presentations. The program is called the Presentations Skills Program and runs from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday, May 2 at the Lucas Centre, 2132 Hamilton Ave. in North Vancoouver. During the class instructor Tom Swankey will teach indi- viduals to communicate their ideas more effectively, gain and maintain favorable attention, use visual aids, and how io “‘read’’?, an audience while creating a desired response.
