THE FIRST NOEL The First Nowell is one of the oldest and most mys?zrious of our carols. No record is known of its origin. Sir John Stainer harmonized this version from the many renditions of his day. The song is not in keeping with scripture: the shepherds didn’t see the star. But the music and v-ords of this old song remind us all of the wonder of the season.
