chefs

CANADA'S BUDDING
chefs have been asked for
their best egg recipes by the
Canadian Egg Marketing
Agency.

To encourage young peo-
ple pursuing careers in the
culinary arts, the agency has
Joined the Canadian Federa-
tion of Chefs de Cuisine
(CFCC) in sponsoring the
first. annual Extra-ordinary
Egg Recipe Competition.

The contest is open to ap-
prentices and student cooks,
in Canadian establishments
who may enter recipes in any
of four categories - ap-
petizers, entrees, desserts and
snacks, All recipes must
feature eggs as the main
ingredient.

All entries will be judged
by the CFCC’s Culinary
Panel. Entry deadline is
March 20, 1985.

The student whose recipe is
judged best overall will ac-
company the Canadian
Culinary Team to Expo Gast
°86, the international
culinary exposition held in
Luxembourg every four
years. The winners ‘in” each
category will receive an
engraved medallion plus a set
of chef's knives supplied by
Canada Cutlery importers
Limited.

Winners will be announced
at the CFCC’s annual
meeting in Calgary this May.
