One way, for instance, to combat unemployment, would be the introduction of a new Homesteading Act, a move which would provide a new way of life for many British Columbians who would prefer to be indepen- dent but lack the resources. The West Vancouver Police have a by-law unit and “‘special constables’” among whose duties 1s the picking up of unattended dogs. These constables have special vehicles for carrying dogs Whereas R.D. Murray seems to think. Neither the West Van- couver Police nor the special constables ever intimated that my request was in- appropriate or referred me to the SPCA. And finally, the loitering dog was posing a threat—it was aie traffic hazard to cars and a health hazard to the children in the nearby school L.S. The provincial government has clearly demonstrated that it does not have the will or the initiative to carry out the necessary re-forestation on a scale anywhere near that which should be carried out by a prudent owner. The ownership of property 1s ‘basic to our way of life, but instead of fighting to retain chew, chew your food very well. Each mouthful should be chewed at least fifty times.
