Declining enrolment in the 4"’ pot

schools is the reason for the
change. Previously the two
school boards paid 62 per
cent of the health board’s
costs while the munici-
palities split the other 38
per cent. But the funding
formula is based on use, and
as there are fewer children in
the schools, the school
boards are using the health
board’s services less.

At a meeting between the
parties involved, the school
districts said they couldn’t
continue to pay more.
