Inset: Councillor John Braithwaite WISHING You MILLENNIUM COMFORT AND JOY | Mayor Barbzra Sharp announced today that the City is fine-tuning its Emergency Response Plan in prepara- tion for the upcoming New Year. Arrangements are being made to place key staff on call out alert in addition to . the plans made by Police and Fire Emergency Response personnel. Over the past several years, the City has been hard at work assessing its many functions and syscems in regards to potential 2K difficulties. Mayor Sharp said that she is very pleased with the arrangements made to date. “Like most other organizations we feel confident that we are prepared but the reality is that there is a risk of unanticipated events,” she said. Mayor Sharp also said she wishes to encourage all residents and businesses to review their own state of readiness. “Individual preparation including the ability to look after yourself independently for a minimum of three days after an evant is key to any broad community recovery process,” she said. NEW PUBLIC ART POLICY DRAWS APPROVAL The North Shore Arcs Commission is pleased to announce that Council has now put its support behind a new “Public Art Policy for the City of Norzh Vancouver.” The new policy will provide the planning framework for an exciting new era of public art creation in our municipality.
