West Van police
fingerprint kids

THE WEST Vancouver Police
Department, along with Block
Parent volunteers and London
Drugs, will team up this week to
produce identification kits for
children.

From Thursday, April 29, to
Friday, April 30 from 10 a.m. to
9 p.m., a Kids Sense display will
be located outside of the London
Drugs store at Park Royal north.

The police will be on hand to
talk to parents and children about
street safety issues.

On Saturday, May 1, from 10
am. to 6p.m. and on Sunday,
May 2, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.,
the police and volunteer Block
Parents will fingerprint children so
that parents can keep a permanent
record of their children’s iden-
tification to give to the police if a
child goes missing.

When completed, the record
will .contain the child’s personal
data, photograph and fingerprints.

The parent or guardian is the
only person: who receives the
completed identification record.
No copies are kept, including the
fingerprints,
