Skaters capture awards

A TEN YEAR old North
Shore Winter Chub skater
captured the gold medal for
the junior most artistic skater
at the B.C. Coast Champion-
ships held at the Winter Club
over the weekend.

Laura-Marie Ulrich came
out ahead of 83 skaters to

take the title.
Another North Shore
skater, Nicole Gruzling of

North Van won the senior
most artistic award.

In the pre-novice womens
division Nicole Gruzling of
North Van and Dawn Germ-
scheid of West Vancouver
qualified for the provincial
championships while Jamie
Ivanich and Dean Loeppky
of North Vancouver
qualified in the mens
division.
