following procedures for good tire
maintenance:

It is crucial, however, that you
follow manufacturer’s minimum
and maximum recommendations
for loads and inflation pressures,
for safety’s sake.

© Rotate your tires at regular in-
tervals: This ensures even tread
wear and longer service life. Many
tire professionals recommend the
‘‘forward X’’ method when
rotating tires. This means the rear
tires are moved to the opposite side
of the front of the vehicle and vice
versa (i.e.: left rear to right front,
right rear to left front, and right
front to left rear, left front to right
rear).

It is important to keep the same
construction tire on the same axle
and to keep directional-tread pat-
terned tires on the proper side of
the vehicle.

° Check the tread depth: Can
you clearly see the tread pattern or
are there visible bald or worn
spots? Is the tire’s built-in tread
wear indicator visible? If so, it's
time to purchase new tires.
