An occupant heard suspicious sounds inside the house at ap- proximately 6:55 a.m. The resident pkoned police at 7:45 a.m. At 8:07 a.m., West Vancouver Police responded to the home with police dog Razz. The dog was put in to service and began tracking a suspect. The dog tracked through the rear door of the home, sround the corner, through a hedge, down a gravel driveway and down the street. The dog led police to a parked car and discovered a man sleeping in the car. The man was arrested and police recovered Property stolen from the residence. Robert Fraser Ferguson is scheduled to appear in West Van- couver provincial court Monday to face the charge. NV man guilty of driving infraction A 22-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was sentenced Wednes- day in North Vancouver provincial court to seven days in jail and was fined $300 after he was found guilty of driving while he was prohibited to do so. Domingo Morabite was originally charged in connection with a July 21 incident, In addition to the jail sentence and fine, Morabito was pro- hibited from driving for an additional six months. Stoien goods land man in jail A 24-YEAR-OLD Chilliwack man was sentenced Nov. 28 in North Vancouver provincial court to 30 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to possessing stolen property. Man jailed for theft A BURNABY man was sentenced to nine months in jail after he was convicted of theft over $1,000 in West Vancouver provincial court Nov. 30 The charge against 22-year-old David Robert Pranzl stemmed from a July 15 incident in which West Vancouver Police responded at 5:30 a.m. to a citizen’s complaint of suspicious activity in the 1300-block of 28th Street. Fifteen minutes later, police pulled over a pickup truck driven by Pranzl on 21st Street and recovered $1,400 worth of car stereo equipment stolen earlier that evening from two vehicles in West Vancouver. Youth axes newspaper box CHARGES are pending against a 14-year-old young offender fol- lowing an Oct. 31 axe attack on a newspaper box located at Or- chard Way and Palmerston Avenue in West Vancouver. A citizen observed a youth wearing a black cape hacking at a Vancouver Sun newspaper box at approximately 3:15 p.m. and called West Vancouver Police. Police responded to the scene with police dog Razz. The dog tracked down the youth to a residence in the 2300-block of Palmerston Avenue. Police located the axe and cape in the home. Subsequent in- vestigation linked the suspect, who lived at the house, with the axe and cape. Man charged with B&E A HALFMOON Bay man _ has been charged with break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence following an office break- in in the 700-block of Marine Drive Nov. 6. West Vancouver Police and police dog Kanus attended the scene ait 8:59 a.m. following a citi- zen’s complaint. Police noted broken glass at the oifice and entered the rear door. Police dog Kanus picked up the scent of the suspect and ran through the office front door. The dog tracked the scent over the Capilano Bridge and on to the Lions Gate Bridge on-ramp, where the accused was arrested.
