inquest into the May 3-death
ofa North Vancouver man.

The two-day inquest
found that Robert Thornton,
aged 47, hariged himself by
making a noose from his
shirt and attaching it to the
cell bars.

Thornton had _ been
arrested by the RCMP
following a “disturbance
call.”

The inquest jury made six -
recommendations '‘as a result
of ‘their findings, mos
dealing with-the observation
of people in the cells.
