World drive on schedule

ATHENS (UPI) - Canadians
Garry Sowerby and Ken
Langley set out from Athens
Tuesday on the second half
of their planned 77-day
odyssey to drive around the
world in record time.

“We are dead on
schedule,” said Langley, the
navigator for the global tnp.

“We aim to get a little
ahead by ‘leaving 12 hours
earher than planned. The
car was checked out by a
local dealer and found to be
in great shape so we've got
the chance to gain a lew
extra hours.”

Mock missile

FOND DU LAC, Wis.
(UPI) - The mock Soviet
missile nose-down in the
ground was meant as a joke,
but the man who found it
apparently thought 1 was
real and collapsed.

Ted Kremer was listed in

critical condition today at
St. Agnes Hospital after

finding the fake missile near
his house.

“It’s one of those practical
jokes that really backfired,”
said Tom Snyder, Fond du
Lac County sheriff.
