A treat for folk lovers Connoisseurs traditional folk music trom Britain and Ireland are in for a double treat with concerts being staged one week apart at the Queen Elizabeth Playhouse by Vancouver Folk Music Festival. Tommy Makem and Liam Clancy are described as being to the Irish vocal tradition what the chieftains are to the instrumental, and will be appearing Sunday, October 12, at 8 p.m. Accompanying them will be Archie Fisher on guitar and Alan Barty playing mandolin and fiddle. The following week, October 19, will see a visit by guitarist John Renbourn and vocalist Jacqui McShee, of * the legendary group of the late 60s, Pentangle, whose albums are acknowledged as classics among British folk recordings. Tickets for both concerts, at $7:50 each, are available at various outlets, including the folk festival office on Main Street in Vancouver, Eatons Stores and_ the Vancouver Ticket Centre. It will soon be 10 years since The Keg opened in North Vancouver. It was our first. A great little spot where almost a generation has joined us tor The Keg Experience, the Good Times and the best dinners The Great Steakhouse can serve. We've grown a lot since 1971 — to a system of 43 neighborhood restau- rants across the land. . On the theory that one very busy Keg deserves another, we've built our second restaurant in North Vancouver. Slightly west. Across the street. A lot of things are very much the same. Some very different. The principal menu item at our new place will be prime rib of beef. The best in town. Thick, juicy, tender — roasted and seasoned as only The Keg knows how. Aad seafood. Fresh daily from the Pacific. And a view. On a clear night you can see Vancouver! And a whole lot of other things you'll discover only by joining us for dinner, The Great Steakhouse story started in North Vancouver. It continues twice as good in North Vancouver every night of the week. PRIME Rip - SEAFOOD ENG yal AN TANIN STEAK Ayp SEAFOOD mrAAVART 107 West Esplanade 985-2812 134 West Esplanade 988-7158
