Since this is our last chance to kick the can prior - to the events of Tuesday, this space now -offers one of its reasonably fearless predic- tions, delivered somewhat sotto voce from the Faithful Underwood, thus: Charles Joseph Clark will be the next Prime Minister of Canada. Besides, he’s the best man for the job. . There is not much doubt the incumbent must be turfed out. Anyone who reads this family newspaper regularly will recognize that we have been generally anti-Trudeau since Day: One. He has nearly wrecked the economy. He has taken cheap shots. His friends and colleagues are highly sus- pect. He has left deep and. I recognize I have written in past that I could not call this one, coujd not get a read on the campaign. All that changed in the last week. Trudeau sagged.
