Richard Einfeldt, 30, of North Vancouver, pleaded guilty to robbing an 85-year-old woman. He pleaded not guilty to robbing a second senior, but instead pleaded guilty to the lesser or included offence of attempted robbery. Einfeldt’s co-accused, Jodi Lee McDonald, 27, also of North Vancouver, received 12 months’ probation after pleading the same way to the same North Van man jailed one year for drive-by theft from 85-year-old offences during sentencing on April 16 in B.C. Supreme Court. On Dec. 3, 1996 Ejinfeldt and McDonald were riding in a stolen white Ford Thunderbird that was taken from a newspaper delivery man at 6 a.m., according to police. The car approached the 85-vear-old woman near East 9th Street and Grand Boulevard at 10:30 a.m. The woman’s purse was ripped out of her hands, according to the North Van RCMP. That afternoon the robbers struck again in the 400-block of West 6th Street. Police said that McDonald grabbed the woman's purse strap and the car sped away with the senior still holding on to her purse. The purse strap broke and the senior fell to the ground with her purse. Einfeldt and McDonald were arrested a short time later near Park and Tilford Centre. Madam Justice Pamela Kirkpatrick prohibited Einfeldt from possessing firearms, ammunition or explosives for life. Einfeldt also received 18 months” Probation. The B.C. Supreme Court judge pro- hibited McDonald from possessing weapons for 10 years. McDonakt was required to pay $60 restitution.
