Crocker does this balancing act on a job site in North Van- couver, Realtors RICK BROOKS-HILL, president of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada, B.C. Division, received a cheque for $53,170 from the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver's retiring presi- dent, Ted Burnham, recent- ly. This is the tenth year a representative of the MS Society has received a regu- lar donation, and it is the largest donation to date. Since adopting the society as its chief charitable beneficiary, the 5,000 plus members of the board have set themselves an annual goal of $40,000 to support the services of a nurse coor- dinator who provides counselling and therapy for MS patients and their fami- lies in a home environment. This year’s $53,000, which is collected entirely from fund-raising projects within the board membership, was the largest ever raised, and brings the ten-year total to over $380,000 for the MS Society’s support. In recognition of the fact that 1987 was a record year for the Real Estate Board's Multiple Listing Service, directors made a one time special donation of $50,000 worth of wheelchairs to the donate $53,170 to charity MS Society in January, dedicated to the Equipment Loan program provided to MS patients in all areas of the province. In 1982 members of the Vancouver Board pioncered another MS fund-raising ef- fort, by forming the major base of volunteer flower sellers during the MS Socie- ty’s Mothers Day Carnation Drive. In the past two years, seven other real estate boards around the province have joined this effort, which raises some $200,000 annually for research into the cause of multiple sclero- sis.
