Men’s toast to tradition

FOR FALL °83, tradition is in style, with menswear
that is slim, trim and elegantly to the point.

Few flourishes

tashion which 1s trendy,

Suits quietly assert
themselves, in the best of
taste, with an easiness born
of elegance. The news ts an
increase in double-breasted
designs, a dramatic decrease
in the three-piece suit, and
the excitement created by tex-
tured fabrics and unusual
colorauions.

gray suit, as its fabric ts likely
to be shot through with a
dozen other colors.

alively-styled suits are likely

variety of intricate knits,
designed to suit every man’s
every mood.

Among the trends to look
for: eye-catching intarsia
knits, variations on the tradi-
tional fair isle patterns, and
the bright, bold good looks
of color-blocking, inspired

Mondrian.
Another thing to watch

for: leather as an integral
part of sweaters, to give them
a look of contemporary
richness that’s smashing.

fabrics for a look that’s ab-
