Setting the tone of the meeting later, Don Hamilton, North Van- couver, who is chairman of the Joe Clark campaign in B.C. and a longtime Clark supporter said: “I don't recall ever going to a constituency meeting where members were called to vote for delegates, duly nominated, many of whom refused to identify the candidate for the leadership of the party whom they would support. So we gave four people blank cheques with no responsibilities and limited authority to speak for the riding — and we have Coming week’s N. Shore agendas N. VAN DIST. The first three’ are believed to be supporters of Brian Mulroney, while only John Ratel can be clearly identified as a committed Joe Clark supporter. The alternate delegates elected were: Joyce Moller, Steve McMinn, John Vinkenbrink, and Larry Terrace, all of North Vancouver. All of these, except for Joyce Moller, are thought to be Mulroney supporters. In a prior meeting the Young Progressive Con- servative group —_ those between 18 and 30 — elected as delegates Bruce Pollock of North Van, a supporter of John Crosbie, and Rob Holmes of Burnaby, a confirmed Joe Clark sup- porter. Vern Taylor, Burnaby, riding association president and also an elected director of the federal party in B.C., had but one comment about the delegate election: “So what?
