WHEN Jane Martin’s
husband Pat does a job
around the house he
does it right.

Jane Martin was in’ the
kitchen of her Pemberton
Heights home on Monday, on
the phone to Pat, Outside the
wind was gusting up to 90 kilo-
meues per hour. Pieces of a
nearby Douglas Fir tree were
raining down upon the house.

“Twas thinking the branch-
es coming down were excep-
tionally big.

“Just at the point where |
was talking there was this
sound, just like an express
train,” recalled the North
Vancouver residen.

A tee had toppled on to
the roof of the house. One
limb pierced the roof'and sliced
into the kitchen just a few teer
from Martin’s head.

“ft realized something really
violent had happened. It was
like a dagger or a giant claw,”
she said.

North Vancouver hard

Teen hurt in WV cras

seeking witnesses to a
Saturday night car accident
on Cypress Bow! Road.

According to a police
spokesman a four-door 1997
Toyota Tercel with three occu-
pants went out of control
approximately one kilometre
south of the upper parking lor.
