CARIBBEAN DAYS '94's festival will take place Sunday, July 24 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at North Vancouver's Waterfront Park, The day will feature food, music, arts, crafts and rides. The festival will be preceed- ed on Saturday, July 23, by Plazarama at the Plaza of Nations and will include four bands: Sound Revolution, Orchestra B.C. Salsa, Pnase 3 Steel Band, Tropical Breeze anil the Thelma Gibson Dancers. Hot Latin, reggae, soca and Caribbean music will be the focus of Plazarama which will run from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. The Ann Macdonald Award went to Bryner of Sentinel sec- ondary school who has a pas- sion for photography. She com- pleted three courses at Sentinel and a mini-course in digital imaging at The Centre for Creative Imaging in Camden, Maine. Her images were chosen by her fellow classmates to repre- sent Sentinel at the Kodak-spon- sored Images of Who We Are exhibit which opened at the Bank of Hong Kong and then travelled to Ottawa and Toronto. Bryner intends to attend the University of Northern B.C. The Seymour Art Gallery pre- sents The Liberated Lady Sunday, july 24 at 2 p.m. Renowned fashion historian Ivan Sayers will present a light- hearted look at women’s fash- ion through the ages at the Seymour Art Gallery in the Shaw Theatre, 4360 Gallant Ave in Deep Cove. The show features an involved demonstration of how the turn-of-the-century woman was dressed plus a look into the objectification of women from the hobble skirt period to the micro-mini and on to the pre- sent modern woman.
