repair it. The tire could pose a
safety hazard. Never try to fix a
tire with sidewall damage.
@ Never substitute. an inner tube
for an emergency or permanent
repair. Don't drive on a spare ex-
cept in an emergency.
@ Do not mix different sizes of
tires, unless your dealer says that
it is acceptable to do so. Even
then, always avoid different sizes
on the same axle.
And never replace a set of tires
with a smaller size. .
e Do not mix radial tires with
any other type of tire.
@ Be careful not to overinflate
tires. It can quickly damage them.
Underinflation will cause tires
to wear out much sooner than
they should.
@ Register your tires if you buy
them from an independent dealer.
That way you will be notified in
the event of a recall.
@ Don’t overload a vehicle. Not
snly can it daiiage springs and
shock absorbers, it can cause tires
to fail ~— something that can be
especially dangerous at highway
speeds.
@ Check your spare often to en-
sure that it is properly inflated. It,
like all tires, loses air pressure
over time. ;
@ Avoid aggressive driving, fast
starts and screeching stops,
squealing turns and riding over
curbs, potholes and other obstruc-
tions which. can.cause premature
wear or failure of the tize.
