trail support

‘A HIKING trail will be constructed along Lynn
Creek this summer, compliments of the Federa-
tion of Mountain Clubs of B.C.

running through to the
Hanes Creek valley.

It would be situated 150
metres above the creek, and
would be open to pedestrian
traffic only.

The GVRD has expressed
interest in studying the
recreation potential of the
land surrounding the trail,
since it is located in the
midst of a scenic wilderness
area.

GVRD officials have
stated the tratl could become
the main access route to the
area if it is developed into a
park in the future.

No fire, but rescuers
find boat theft suspects

were taken from the boat for
questioning by police.

The incident was the se-
cond that involved an alert
citizen from the shore calling
out the rescue forces.

The North and West
Vancouver Emergency
Program is looking for any
persons with a view of the
water to become involved in
their Coast Watch program.
