Dick Roberts is just one
example of how a Canadian
who served his country in the
Armed Forces is continuing
to help his community. I

ences, He joined the Lyan
Valley Legion and worked
hard to buiid their hall on
Lynn Valley Road.

Both Dick and Brenda are
still active riembers of
Branch 114 and will be sell-
ing poppies in Lynn Vallev
Mall before Remembrance
Day. Then on Nov. Di, veter-
ans will gather at the
Cenotaph in Victoria Park to
remember those who died
serving their country in
wartime.

The Roval Canadian
Legion is active all year
round, raising money to help
veterans in need. Over the
vears, Branch 114 has donat-
ed more than $250,000 to
veterans and their fmilies,
and to Evergreen House, the
911 Relay and sending seri-
ously ill children to
Disnevland.

Their next major activity
is the North Shore Christmas
Hamper Fund, organized by
Branch 114. Last year they
assembied and donated 140
hampers to North Shore vet-
erans and others in need.
