Of late, Herrin’s students have been tackling forensic
evidence in the O.J. Simpson trial.
The regional award includes a $3,000 honorarium,

A third of the award goes ta the school and two-thirds

goes to Hertin.

“Working in an exciting school with exciting students
makes the job easier,” he said.

“We really have advantaged children,” he said.

Last year Herrin was the first Canadian chissroom
teacher to win the North America-wide Catalyst Award.

That award is issued by the Chemical Manufacturers’
Association which included a US$5,000 prize.
