Survey compares company car policies

THE 29,000 member Commercial
Travellers’ Association of Canada
has recently published a report
dealing with the company car.

This annual survey reports on,
and compares, company car
policies in the Canadian market.

Members surveyed who use a car
for company business reported
mileage reimbursement of 25 cents

an average of $374 plus gas. As
well, many companies now pay for
the driver’s insurance, minor
repairs and licensing.

Almost all of the members
stressed that they must keep
careful track of business mileage
and expenses.

The trend toward the mid-size
car has continued in recent years.

nuing high cost for association
members in Quebec. They pay
15.9 per cent more to drive in their
province than members do in On-
tario, although the margin has
narrowed considerably over the
