Mailbox —____ COLLINS NEEDS A NEEDS A “WAME ME CHANGE? What does Dear Editor: For some considerable time 1 have resisted a strong urge to write tegarding the odious columns of Mr. Doug Collins. I think he should give some thought to changing his name from Collins to Colic (a severe spasmodic griping painin the belly). My feelings about Mr. Colic date back to watching him on CBC television. In those days the pres- ent six o'clock news hour included a public affairs section which vovered Jive interviews with pro- minent visitors to the city and local individuals who for one reason of another found themselves in’ the headlines. The interviewers varied, but in- cluded Mr, Colic, who, if the sub- ject appeared to demand it, ap- peared to relish going on the at- tuck, coming on stronge and stronger if the interviewee accepted his strong-arm and loud-mouthed DRAPERIES BY S. If he were given an opportunity to interview Mr. Mulroney on television | Garden 7 - Wednesday, October 8, oug stand for? wonder whether he would have the nerve to accuse him of having ‘tno more savvy than @ scarecrow, a nincompoop, a thickwit, a dunce and a dullard*' or whether he would console him with the state- ment that “the other parties are as bad in all these things as you are’’. It would be interesting to know what, if anything, Mr. Collins stands for.
