night-time mail slot, and that
the City had never cashed
the cheque.

When City staff said she

hadn't paid the taxes
because they couldn't find
the cheque, Mts. Hansson
took her case to City
council

Council decided Monday
that af Mrs. Hansson
presents a notarized
statement that she paid the
tax bill on time, they will ask
the Ministry of Municipal
Affairs to cancel the penalty.
