The display of racing cars will help highlight the upcoming season and the growing North Shore participants. Action B.C., a non-profit organization funded by the B.C. Ministry of Health, is calling for entries to Cor- porate Cup ‘80, to be held at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby in early May (May 11, 1980). Up to 80 companies, union locals, and other Organizations may enter teams of up to 15 members each (five team members must be female), in a day- long series of whimsical track and field events - the Bureaucratic Shuffle, the long, long, long, long jump, a frisbee accuracy contest, a medicine ball relay titled “Pass the Buck”, and a walking relay called “The Executive Strut”! Bike races start on Sunday The annual O.B. Allan Cup Bicycle Race will be held this year on Sunday, March 30 at Stanley Park. One of Vancouver’s oldest sporting events, the races will be held on a closed cir- cuit on the west side of Stanley Park. Sign on for the race is at 7 There will be no closure of the east side of the park in- cluding the Zoo and Aquarium areas. Traffic leaving the park will be routed down the east side of Pipeline Rd. The west side of the park will be closed to traffic from 7-9 a.m. for safe- ty. Aim of the now-annual event is to highhght and reward employees and companies that get involved in and encourage general employee fitness. Last year saw 43 teams entering, with the West Vancouver School Board taking first place, Worker's Compensation Board in second, and S.F.U. Faculty third. Spectators numbered around 2,000 last year, and Try the bureaucratic shuffle everyone is welcome this year to help cheer con- testants on their merry way.
