auction this weekend. He
estimates up te 80 extra-
ordinary automobiles
wil! be on the auction

THE heat of summer
signals the arrival of
many things on the
North Shore — Little
League tournaments,
barbecues and picnics.
Add coilector cars to
that list.

For the past few summers
an ever-changing flect of clas-
sic automobiles have found a
home at Centennial Theatre
in North Vancouver, thanks to
the efforts of Bob LeFlufy and
his North Vancouver-based
Autoclassic Restorations. The
ever-resourceful LeFlufy
added a barbecue ta the festiv-
ities last year, establishing a
great event for familics and
the scrious collector alike.

Autoclassic’s 2nd Annual
Summer Collector Car
Auction and BARBECUE
rolls into town this weekend,

and the crop of collectibles -

promises to be one of the best
ever.

tomorrow and Sunday.

Come juin the bidding for
a spectacular 1958 Chrysler
Crown Imperial Convertible,
(with a fresh frame off restora-
tion), one of 673 ever pro-
duced and believed to be ove
of very few in existence.

Other notable auction
items include a 1966 Mustang
Convertible, 2 1956 Crown
Victoria, a 1966 Austin
Healey, a 1970 Mercedes 280
SE, or for the sports car fan a
restored 1978 MGB. Dick
Irwin’s very own 1959 Chevy
Impala (sce photo) will also
be available to the highest bid-
der.

In addition to the rolling
works of art, automotive refat-
ed vendor booths will be on
site, and the °54s and °60s
rock-n-roll band The Hor
Rails will provide the enter-
tainment.

Bidder registration is
mandatory but also compli- |
mentary.

The auction preview takes
place tomorrow from 4 p.m.
to 8 p.m., while the auction is
set for Sunday with the doors
open at 9 a.m. and the actual
bidding beginning at 10:30
am. .
Tickets are available. at the
docr, $6/weekend with $} of
every ticket going towards
chanty. Chitdren 12° and
