Police nab 395 during intersection blitz

period Oct. 23 to Nov. 3.

While police are calling the
campaign an overall success in
terms of increasing driver
awareness of the importance of
careful driving where roads come
together, the number of accidents
posted for the period is up over

North Vancouver, of which 61] oc-
curred at intersections. But for the
same period this year, police re-
corded 186 accidents — 59 occur-
red at intersections.

Meanwhile in West Vancouver,
police issued 89 tickets for driving
infractions at intersections. West
Vancouver Police charged 34 peo-
ple for failing to stop, 20 for
