gram developed on

Grade 10 students in

5 West Vancouver.

Odyssey, will initially be a sin-

gle grade class of 24 students, °

with nwo full-time teachers.
The name Odyssey was
chosen because it portrays the
image. of the. challenge,
growth and adventure that
the students will experience.
The Odyssey program is
designed to present. young
people with a series of signifi-
cant academic, physical, and

social challenges in an effort to
help them make a rich transi-
tion from. adolescence. to
adulthood,

In Odyssey, students: will
be taught by experiential edu-
ation methods. This involves
considerable hands-on learn-
ing, both in and out of the
classroom.

The program will present
students with a host of chal-
lenges in the academic curricu-
lum and on the many outdoor
adventures — from hiking to
kayaking, and even camping in
the snow!

Odyssey has been designed
using some of the features of
other programs such as. Trek

Wales secondary),
Earthquest.. (Vernon -. sec-
ondary), and Island © Pacific

"School (Bowen Island).

The Odyssey staff will serve
