Cost: + 25 © Junior Navigator Prerequisite: Advanced Piloting Course This is the first of a two-year celestial navigation course. The navigator applies the sciences of cartography and © astronomy to set a course and determine a position at sea, much as the pilot uses landmarks. Cost: $125 . Navigator Prerequisites: Junior Navigator Course Course content: Advanced systems of co- ordinates by celestial bodies, identifica- tion,, use for navigation, sight reduction and the use of navigation tables, Traverse, Mercator and Great Circle Sailing, _ navigational astronomy, sofar and lunar phenomena. Cost: $125 Seamanship Power Course content: Power trains, engine ‘ controls and instruments; handling and cruising under power; mooring and -anchoring; legal responsibilities; engine and trouble diagnosis; fuels and fuel systems; electrical systems; cooling and lubrication; maintenance.
