It is called CAD (Computer Aided Dispatch) and here's how it can help you. . ALL SYSTEMS GO! Imagine any emergency. The Fire Departinent is called and rushes to the scene, They are informed someone is inside a burning house. They move into an already dangerous situation unaware that the person inside may have diabetes, heart disease or some other medical condition that could complicate matters, Suddenly the risks of survival increase. CAD is designed to give firefighters more information so they can be prepared todeal with an emergency situation in the most _ efficient and effective manner. C.A.D. MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE... Now anyone witha medical condition or disability (i.e. diabetes, heart disease, communicable diseases, allergies, wheelchair, etc.) can send - their pertinent information to the City Fire Department to be entered in the new CAD system. Then, if there is a fire oran emergency at your home, the Fire Department will receive a print- out of your medical condition as they ‘are rushing out the door of the Fire Hall. With this medical information, firefighters can be-more informed on ithe s scene. if you want to increase your chances ofsurvivalin the case ofan emergency, take a minute to fill in the medical information form on this page. The objective is to develop a workable, cost effective plan that minimizes the impact of truck traffic on residential neighbourhoods and ensures reasonable access for trucks.
