NORTH SHORE-based Regis Pic-
tures and Frames, billed as
Western Canada’s largest picture
framer, opens the doors to its
13th tovation today, at the Park
Royal Shopping Centre south.

The opening of the Park Royal
store is also the fourth North
Shore location of the store, which
now has two branches in West
Vancouver and two in North
Vancouver.

Other locations are
across the Lower Mainland.

Regis Pictures and Frames
specializes in custom framing, but
the family run business, whose
principals live on the North Shore,
also carry top-selling posters and
limited edition prints. .

While the Park Royal store is
opening today, its official opening
will be held on Friday

picture framing gallery in Park

promotions manager Gillian Dew.

A BUSINESS booin has taken off
in the Squamish area.

According to Wendy Magee,
manager of the Howe Sound and
Squamish District Chamber of
Commerce, more and more North
Shore-based businesses are open-
ing branch offices in Squamish.

“Part of the reason for it is
that Squamish is getting closer
and closer to Vancouver and
businesses can still afford the real
estate prices here." said Magee.
“Another reason is that a lot of
people who work in) Vancouver
are now moving te Squamish."

She added that more industri-
al-related businesses are relocating
to Squamish as opposed to
fourism-related businesses because
industry feels tt can better serve
