Yoga founder to speak ON SATURDAY, Aug. II, a woman who har been called one of the world's greatest living Saints will teach her program of Self Realization to the Vancouver public. Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi offers a system of meditation that em- phasizes the need for people to become their own guru. Her tech- nique, called Sahaja Yoga, uses signals and = sensations called vibrations felt on the central ner- vous system to achieve greater awareness and deeper intuition. “Rather than requiring a ‘leap of faith,’ it is an actual experience of the integration of our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual being. It thus brings about com- plete balance and inner peace,” say followers. Developed over 20 years and spread throughout 40 countries, the practice of Sahaja Yoja is beginning to enjoy global recogni- tion. In the Soviet Union, as a result of recent meetings between Shri Mataji and the health ministry, a completely distinct status for the teaching of Sahaja Yoga was arranged by the ministry. In addition, the ministry organized a program by 500 doc- tors who, later that same day, at- tended a public lecture given by Shri Mataji. Shri Mataji will be speaking in Vancouver at the Vancouver Academy of Music, near the Planetarium, on Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. The Sahaja Yoga Society meets at the North Vancouver City Library at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and at the West Vancouver Me- morial Library at 7 p.m. Thurs- days.
