Physiotherapists go through one year of general sciences and three years of physiotherapy training and must, according to Lee, com- plete 1,350 hours of in-hospital training before graduating. WV heart transplant recipient donates art WEST VANCOUVER impressionist artist Daniel Izzard presented one of his paintings at the opening of a new cen- tre for research into organ transplants in Ontario Thursday. “I's a great honor,’ Izzard said Tuesday before he left for the opening of the John Robarts Research Centre in London, On- tario. Wvaard, who underwent a heart transplant Jan, 12 at the University Hospital in London, remembers that the idea of donating a paint- ing goes back to when he was a pa- tient at the hospital. The new centre was still under construction when the chairman of the board of directors suggested “tongue in cheek"? that maybe the artist could donate a painting for the building. Izzard said yes. “Tm quite happy to do it,” he said. “They did so much for me. The amount of hospitality was fantastic. “Tt seemed appropriate that | should make this sort of gesture from B.C. — there is quite a tot of people from B.C. who go there (for transplar:s),"” the artist said. As the painting is from British Columbia, Izzard wanted it to be typical of British Columbia.
