calls for a two-lane highway
from the Lyrn_ Valiley-
Highway 1 interchange
through the Capilano River
valley to Squamish--the
controversial Capilano
watershed route.

West Vancouver Mayor
Derrick Humphreys has also
called for an alternate route.

“Delays, accidents,
fatalities, washouts, have all
shown that an alternative
highway connection to the
hinterland is necessary”, he
said recently, adding that a
new route would be “per-
fectly feasible.”
