West Vancouver council gave a tentative blessing last week to a group home for the mentally handicapped which has been strongly opposed by neighboring residents. The interim permit granted for the home at 1238 Jefferson Avenue will be reviewed in six months: time by the community care licence inspector who will then decide whether to extend the permit or issue a licence. Residents will hold their own meeting at that time for an exchange of views on how the project is working out, sAlderman Diana Hutchinson told council.
