Alexis Pearl Leancy, Georgina Terese King and Erica Deidre Leiren—all of Carson Graham—have won $250 scholarships for their efforts on behalf of Coun- terAttack in a recent contest held by the B.C. attorney- general's d-_ artment. ‘Alexis Pearl Leaney was awarded an additional $250 as a special category winner in journalism. - “The scholarships were offered because I noticed a great deal of interest and enthusiasm among the young people of our province in our effort to combat drinking driving,” stated Garde Gardom, attorney- general. “I'm sure some of the winning students have put forward such a tremendous effort that receiving this award will seem anti- climactic to their friends, their schools and their communities. I take great pleasure in secing these awards presented.” Transportation week honors one million British Columbia will join other provinces in observing Transportation Week from May 27 to June 2 says Transport, Communication and Highways Minister Alex Fraser.
