tic echo of cultural appropriation in
Sister Drum. The very success of

To western ears the pleasing
result sounds much like the work of
a Cantonese version of Enya.

Zheqin of Guangzhou — has
achieved an unprecedented mil-
lion-selling Chinese pop disc with
this release. The album is in large
part the vision of Chinese compos-
er He Xuntian.
